Kinetic IT’s Business Services business unit is responsible for maintaining and enforcing strong internal controls, as well as processing and reviewing transactions in a timely and accurate manner and most importantly acting as a "business partner" to the organization aiding decision making and continuous improvement (excellence in business management).

Reporting to the Financial Controller who has responsibility for the oversight of Financial Assurance and Transactional Services, the role will involve day-to-day and month end finance tasks, including general ledger maintenance and reconciliations, preparing management reports and completing statutory reporting obligations. The role will be responsible for:

  • Fixed Assets Register and Leases
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and commentary
  • Processing of journals and accruals
  • Ensure financial transactions are performed in compliance with company policies
  • Assist with yearly statutory accounts and year-end audit with external auditors
  • Assist with cash flow monitoring, reporting & forecasting
  • Assist with statutory and tax compliance obligations (GST, Income Tax, FBT, R&D)
  • Review current accounting processes and implement areas of improvement
  • Preparation of technical accounting papers
  • Assist with assessment and implementation of internal controls
  • Preparation of financial presentations provided for the Company’s AGM, Board of Directors, Audit Committee and corporate updates
  • Assist with accounting models (e.g., Long Service Leave, Impairment of Intangibles, Restructuring provisions)  

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Competences:

  • Qualification in Accountancy or related business disciplines
  • CA/CPA qualified or studying
  • Experience in preparation or audit of financial statements
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (AASB/IFRS)
  • Sound analytical skills and ability to provide ideas for process improvements
  • Rapid learner with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise workloads in an efficient, accurate and timely fashion
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite; strong excel and modelling skills
  • Enjoy working autonomously, be pro-active and take initiative
  • Process and deadline driven mindset with ability to meet tight deadlines
