About The Role
Kinetic IT is looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to take ownership of the Microsoft 365 environment for one of our key enterprise customers. Focusing on establishing and uplifting the existing service, strengthening operational practices, and driving continuous improvement. You will work closely with the customer, internal teams, and other service providers to ensure a reliable, well-managed environment, before expanding your responsibilities across Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS from an operational lense.
This role will suit a proactive and autonomous cloud professional who enjoys solving problems, driving technical improvements, and building strong stakeholder relationships. You'll have the opportunity to influence how cloud services are delivered, taking ownership of outcomes rather than simply responding to issues as they arise.
Responsibilities will include:
• Microsoft 365 Service Ownership: Take ownership of the Microsoft 365 environment, assessing the current state, identifying gaps, and working on uplifting service maturity and performance.
• Cloud Service Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve platform stability, security, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Operational Excellence: Establish and embed effective operational practices, processes, documentation, and service management procedures.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with customer stakeholders to understand business requirements, communicate technical recommendations, and align cloud services with business objectives.
• Service Provider Collaboration: Partner with other service providers and technical teams to coordinate activities, manage dependencies, and ensure continuity of service.
• Incident and Problem Management: Support the investigation and resolution of complex technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurring incidents.
• Platform Security and Compliance: Maintain appropriate security controls, access management, configuration standards, and compliance requirements across cloud environments.
• Monitoring and Performance: Monitor cloud service health, availability, and performance, identifying and addressing potential issues before they affect the customer.
• Automation and Optimisation: Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks, streamline operational processes, and improve the efficiency of cloud service delivery.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance, contribute to solution design, and drive best-practice approaches to cloud engineering and service management.
• Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate technical documentation, configuration records, operational procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay across emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices, recommending practical improvements that deliver measurable value to the customer.
What you’ll bring to the table:
• Proven track record working in a similar role
• Experience managing M365, Azure & AWS
• Excellent stakeholder management and customer facing approach to solving problems and building rapport
• Previous experience working with multiple trams and providers to achieve a united outcome
