About the role:

Kinetic IT is seeking a skilled Network Specialist to join our team supporting a classified federal government customer. This role is perfect for an experienced senior networking professional with expertise in Fortinet solutions, SD-WAN, and Routing & Switching.

You will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, and mitigating incidents and service requests, as well as deploying, configuring, and maintaining Fortinet products. While the primary focus is BAU operations, there will be opportunities to contribute to projects and other customer accounts within Kinetic IT.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, test, and maintain Fortinet solutions (Fortigate, FortiNAC, FortiMail, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiSandbox, etc.).
• Knowledge of SDWAN, Routing and Switching
• Monitor, investigate, and mitigate incidents and service requests in ServiceNow (SNOW).
• Conduct log analysis, develop visualizations, and generate reports.
• Collaborate with Security Operations and IT engineers to implement security controls.
• Ensure optimal service levels and maintain compliance with risk mitigation processes.
• Create technical articles and bulletins to enhance the internal and external knowledge base.
• Provide technical leadership and support to IT Ops, Service Desk, and Field Services teams through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes.
• Occasional work on projects and other customer accounts as required.
• Travel to sites if necessary for device configuration and troubleshooting.

About you:

• Strong experience with Fortinet solutions (Fortigate, FortiNAC, FortiMail, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, FortiSandbox, etc.).
• Knowledge and experience in SD-WAN, Routing, and Switching.
• Experience with log analysis, visualization, and reporting.
• Ability to work under broad direction, quickly learning new technologies.
• Experience troubleshooting network issues and optimizing IT operations.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to travel to sites for device configuration and troubleshooting as needed.
• ITIL v4 Certification (highly beneficial).
• Desirable to possess Fortinet NSE Certifications (NSE4, NSE5, NSE6, or higher).
• Desirable to possess Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certifications.
• Essential to have a NV1 clearance for this role. Candidates must have this level of clearance to be considered.
