About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineer – Data and Reporting to establish and lead our enterprise reporting capability across Kinetic IT. This senior role is responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent and scalable approach to operational and service reporting across multiple customer environments, supporting a consolidated managed services delivery model.
This role will also enable a Centre of Enablement, supporting customer account teams by providing the tools, standards, templates, and technical guidance required to build meaningful, data-driven insights that support both operational performance and strategic decision-making.
Working closely with the Automation & Orchestration and ITOM Toolset Technical Leads, this role will drive integrated reporting solutions that surface data from service management platforms (e.g. ServiceNow), monitoring tools (e.g. LogicMonitor), and automation engines to provide a single view of service health, efficiency, and improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting Strategy & Platform Ownership
• Define and maintain the overarching data and reporting strategy for National Services, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and customer needs.
• Select, implement, and maintain reporting platforms, dashboards, and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, native ServiceNow reporting).
• Establish and maintain reporting frameworks, including data models, taxonomy, and source system integration approaches.
Integrated Reporting & Insights
• Collaborate with the Automation & Orchestration and ITOM Toolset leads to develop cross-domain reporting capabilities that drive actionable insights.
• Develop standard dashboards and reporting packs across key domains including incidents, changes, availability, capacity, performance, automation ROI, and SLA adherence.
• Enable the integration of data from multiple systems (ServiceNow, LogicMonitor, CMDBs, automation platforms) into a unified reporting layer.
Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
• Provide Level 3 support and subject matter expertise for reporting platforms and integrations.
• Design and implement processes for data quality assurance, validation, and exception handling.
• Champion continuous improvement through reporting that highlights trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
Governance & Standards
• Define and enforce standards for report development, data definitions, metrics, and visualisation practices.
• Ensure all reporting meets privacy, compliance, and contractual requirements, including support for internal and customer audits.
• Maintain clear documentation of data sources, metric definitions, and reporting logic.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement
• Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external stakeholders for all things data and reporting.
• Conduct enablement sessions, provide templates, and mentor team members and account teams in reporting best practices.
• Collaborate with service delivery managers and customer stakeholders to tailor reporting to contractual and operational needs.
Key Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with enterprise reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
• Proven experience developing and supporting data models, dashboards, and automated reporting workflows.
• Familiarity with integrating data from ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow), monitoring tools (e.g. LogicMonitor), and automation engines.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and API-based data extraction.
• Understanding of IT Operations and Managed Services reporting requirements, including SLA, KPI, and service health metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders and translate data into meaningful business insights.
• Strong documentation and standardisation skills, with attention to detail and governance.
• Experience working in a multi-customer or MSP environment preferred.
