About the Role:

We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Applications Developer to join our team on a fixed-term contract through to 29 August 2026. In this role, you’ll be embedded on our client’s site, working closely with their stakeholders to design, develop, and modernise enterprise applications.

You’ll be instrumental in re-architecting existing IIS-hosted applications and delivering new solutions leveraging PaaS and SaaS platforms, with a strong emphasis on Azure and AWS. Operating within a Scrum framework and using Azure DevOps for backlog management and CI/CD, you’ll play a key role in delivering solutions that meet complex business needs.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using .NET, C#, SQL, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Lead application re-architecture initiatives, transitioning from on-premises to PaaS/SaaS environments.
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs for robust integration and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders within an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Manage application deployments, pipelines, and releases through Azure DevOps.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex application issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Apply programming best practices, including unit and integration testing.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation in line with organisational standards.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other developers when required.

About you:

  • Fluent in C#, SQL, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Strong background in .NET Framework, .NET Core, and ASP.NET (Forms and MVC).
  • Proven experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD pipelines, releases, and artefacts.
  • Proficient in Git version control.
  • Experience with relational databases and ORMs such as Entity Framework and Dapper.
  • Solid understanding of debugging, troubleshooting, and application performance optimisation.
  • Strong knowledge of unit and integration testing practices.
  • Desirable if you have experience with VB.NET, PowerShell and Python, Cloud engineering experience in Azure or AWS and experience with Angular/AngularJS.
