About the role:

Join our team as a Senior SQL Database Administrator (DBA) supporting Kinetic IT’s DITRDCA account. This role is critical to maintaining the stability, security, and performance of our SQL database environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure database availability, optimize performance, and implement best practices in database management. This position requires an active NV1 clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL database instances, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Monitor and manage database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Design, implement, and maintain database clustering, backup, and recovery solutions.
• Develop, implement, and manage database maintenance plans, including automated backups and disaster recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database integration with Windows Server, network, storage, and virtualized environments.
• Manage security configurations, including certificate management and access control.
• Provide database expertise in a mixed environment, including on-premises, VMWare, and Azure platforms.
• Document processes, perform database audits, and maintain compliance with security protocols.

About you:

• Proven experience as a Senior SQL DBA, with a strong background in MS SQL.
• Experience in installing, configuring, and managing SQL database instances.
• Strong skills in database performance optimization, clustering, and maintenance plan configuration.
• Familiarity with Windows Server management, certificate management, and network/storage configurations.
• Experience working with virtualization (VMWare) and cloud platforms (Azure) is highly desirable.
• Active NV1 security clearance is mandatory.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to database management.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
