About The Role
One of Kinetic ITs largest and most high profile accounts is looking for a Security Operations Manager to join their team based in East Perth.
This key role is responsible for leading and overseeing the delivery of security services and ensuring customer satisfaction across the account. Managing a team of security professionals and coordinating with third-party partners to ensure the effective delivery of Threat Intelligence, Threat Response, Vulnerability Management, and other critical security services. The role drives continuous improvement, innovation, and alignment with the customer’s strategic security objectives.
Responsibilities will include:
• Oversee SIEM and Microsoft Defender operations, including log ingestion, threat detection, CTI integration, and cyber event response.
• Lead and manage the Security Operations team delivering Protect+ services, including Threat Intelligence, and Threat Response, Threat Hunting and Vulnerability Management
• Manage Major Incident Management (MIM) processes for cyber-related incidents.
• Collaborate with alliance partners to deliver Vulnerability Management services, including detection, reporting, governance, and remediation prioritisation.
• Coordinate Penetration Testing activities and ensure actionable outcomes are integrated into security operations.
• Provide thought leadership and drive implementation of SOC Uplift initiatives, including cyber-forensics and purple teaming capabilities.
• Define and refine cyber security services in collaboration with customer stakeholders.
• Manage third-party partner relationships (e.g., Tenable, SIEM providers) to ensure seamless day-to-day operations and service delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
• Encourage open communication and collaboration within the SOC team and with other teams, facilitating the sharing of security insights, best practices, and lessons learned to strengthen overall security posture.
• Lead, coach, develop a team of people to increase engagement and delivery of outcomes.
What you’ll bring to the table:
• Proven experience leading security operations teams in complex IT environments.
• Strong background in SIEM technologies, threat detection, and incident response.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and alliance partners.
• Demonstrated success in delivering vulnerability management and penetration testing programs.
• Experience in defining and implementing SOC capabilities and uplift initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Any security related certifications would be highly beneficial
