ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a new, strategic opportunity for a ServiceNow Technical Architect to join Kinetic IT's national Federal Services Group, this is a role that moves beyond the script and business rules, focusing instead on providing architectural direction, strategic guidance, and platform capability maturity for our key Federal Government customers.
As the trusted technical partner, responsible for designing, articulating, and governing the end-to-end ServiceNow architecture to deliver Enterprise Service Management (ESM) outcomes and obligations. You will be architecting the maturation of the Common Services Data Model (CSDM) instance, ensuring data integrity and driving the automation and digitisation of the toolset through advanced platform features.
This is a Permanent, full-time position offering a flexibility split between the office and working from home. We are happy to accept applications from candidates based in Melbourne or Canberra.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic architectural direction to the customer and Kinetic IT, ensuring optimal usage and successful delivery of Enterprise Service Management (ESM) outcomes and platform capabilities.
- Lead the development and management of the ServiceNow platform roadmap, capability maturity, and innovation plans, aligning with industry best practices.
- Produce, present, and execute architectural designs and standards, while leading technical and platform governance forums to ensure sound technical governance.
- Develop comprehensive solution designs for all new features, functions, and applications.
- Lead customer-facing workshops to facilitate project scoping for complex technical engagements, with a focus on optimal data flow and integration architecture.
- Partner closely with senior customer stakeholders (including Executive Sponsor and product owners) and internal/external service managers.
- Contribute to corporate business development and pre-sales activities, including tenders, demonstrations, and assisting Business Development Managers with architectural solutions.
ABOUT YOU
You are a seasoned ServiceNow professional who thrives on delivering both technical expertise and strategic business outcomes. With ability to speak fluent CSDM, data governance, and platform performance, you possess the gravitas and communication skills necessary to engage effectively with executive-level stakeholders - Being able to expertly translate complex technical architecture (incl data structure, security domains, and instance separation) into clear, impactful business value.
We are looking for the Required Skills and Experience of:
- Current Australian Citizenship, with the ability to gain required Government Security Clearances.
- Proven experience in an Architect or Technical Lead capacity, providing strategic ServiceNow architectural direction to large-scale enterprise or government customers.
- Possess, or be actively working towards, a ServiceNow Technical Architect (CTA) certification
- Hold relevant certifications such as Certified Implementation Specialist - Data Foundations (CIS-DF).
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the maturity, implementation, and governance of the Common Services Data Model (CSDM), including experience across all domains (Design, Service, Portfolio, etc.).
- Deep expertise in the utilisation and maturity of the ServiceNow ITSM modules and understanding its architectural dependencies on the CMDB and CSDM.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to present and lead technical discussions with executive and platform owner-level stakeholders.
- Advantageous, experience in pre-sales or consultative solutioning, assisting with technical capability, conducting demonstrations, and partnering with Business Development Managers to scope engagements.
- A personable and collaborative approach, able to thrive in a partnership environment and act as a trusted technical advisor.
