Associate Systems Engineer - Desktop Field Support

About The Role.

Kinetic IT are hiring an Associate Systems Engineer to join our team based in Cairns QLD, supporting their end-users through onsite, remote, and field services work. This role is hands-on and suits someone who enjoys variety, solving technical issues, and getting out to different customer sites.

You’ll be working across Windows, Apple, endpoint management, airport technologies, hardware support and contributing to project and uplift activities. Some domestic travel is required, and you’ll be backed by a supportive and collaborative KIT crew. This role does require someone that enjoys working autonomously whilst still contributing remotely as part of a wider national team. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing onsite and remote desktop support across Windows 10/11, O365, and common workplace applications
  • Troubleshooting PC hardware, peripherals, printers, Apple/Mac devices, and basic networking issues
  • Supporting Active Directory, user administration, and endpoint management (SCCM/Intune)
  • Assisting with Citrix and virtual desktop environments
  • Participating in field services, including site visits, equipment installs, break-fix work, and small project tasks
  • Contributing to deployments/rollouts, documentation, asset updates, and knowledge articles
  • Delivering a professional, customer-focused service experience

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Experience or strong interest in desktop/field support
  • Knowledge across, Windows 10/11, Office 365, AD, group policy basics, SCCM/Intune, PC hardware, imaging, peripherals, Apple/Mac support.
  • Some basic networking (DNS/DHCP/Wi-Fi), Citrix is desirable.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude with willingness to learn
  • Valid driver’s licence and Australian Citizenship is required. 
  • Ability to travel as required
