Finance Specialist-MS Dynamics 365 implementation

About The Role
Financial Specialist required for a fixed term contract for an initial 18 month project assisting the finance area to implement Dynamics 365. This role will be instrumental in providing hands on guidance from design through to go live and go live support. You will be the SME withing this space advising between finance and the business.

Responsibilities will include:
• Lead finance input into the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) implementation, partnering with the ERP Lead and external implementation partners.
• Provide financial and accounting expertise to ensure system design meets accounting standards, reporting requirements and project operations needs.
• Work with finance, project and operational teams to define and document future state workflows for F&O and Project Operations, driving standardisation and best practice outcomes.
• Design and embed robust internal controls and approval workflows, including segregation of duties, approval hierarchies and automated controls.
• Ensure the system supports statutory, management and tax reporting requirements, working with Financial Assurance to validate governance, audit trails and controls.
• Lead financial data cleansing and migration activities, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation and data integrity across legacy and new systems.
• Coordinate finance testing activities, including UAT, developing test scenarios and supporting issue resolution.
• Support change and adoption through training materials and hands on guidance for finance users.

What you’ll bring to the table:
• 8+ years’ experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Proven ERP implementation experience, including configuring or supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, compliance and audit requirements.
• Demonstrated experience supporting data migration, system testing and user training during ERP implementations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both finance and technical teams, translating business requirements into system solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with finance teams, IT specialists, project managers, vendors and non financial stakeholders.
• Proven capability to bridge the gap between technical teams and finance users to ensure shared understanding and successful outcomes.
• Comprehensive understanding of end to end finance processes, including purchasing, invoicing, revenue recognition and financial close.
• Strong appreciation of how finance processes impact broader business operations.
• Ability to align system configuration with strategic objectives, delivering transparency, insight and business value beyond transactional processing.
• Related degree or CPA/CA
