Kinetic IT are looking for a Senior Security Analyst to join our Security Operations team. In this role, you’ll lead threat detection, incident response, and security monitoring, with a focus on Microsoft Sentinel.
You’ll act as a technical lead across IT and OT environments, supporting SOC services, improving processes, and mentoring other analysts, while working full-time onsite at our customer’s location (Perth CBD). This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role and directly contribute to strengthening security capability in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead threat detection, investigation, and response using Microsoft Sentinel
- Improve detection rules, log sources, and overall, SOC capability
- Support incident management and workflows through ServiceNow
- Drive automation, playbooks, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead or support purple team activities aligned to MITRE ATT&CK
- Mentor and support junior analysts
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Strong experience in SOC operations and incident response
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Sentinel and KQL
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, and automation practices
- Understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and threat intelligence
- Ability to work across IT and OT environments
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Current AGSVA Security Clearance, or eligibility to obtain one (Australian Citizenship required due to customer requirements)
