Are you an analytical, collaborative Business Analyst who enjoys turning business needs into practical solutions? Join Kinetic IT’s team in Canberra, supporting a Federal government customer by identifying improvement opportunities, defining clear requirements and helping deliver effective processes, applications and solutions.

Working closely with business stakeholders and project or process owner teams, you’ll analyse existing processes and systems, gather and document requirements, and translate business needs into functional specifications and use cases that guide development and system enhancements.

This role is based 100% onsite in Canberra and requires an active high level security clearance. It would suit someone who communicates clearly, works confidently across technical and non-technical stakeholders, and produces high-quality documentation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, identify pain points and gather clear requirements for projects and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Analyse existing business processes and systems to identify gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Document business and functional requirements, specifications and use cases to support solution development and system enhancements.
• Act as the liaison between business users and project or process owner teams, facilitating communication, managing expectations and building a shared understanding of requirements.
• Create and maintain high-quality technical and user documentation, including detailed specifications for proposed solutions.

What we’re looking for:

• Current Australian Citizenship and an active high level Australian Government security clearance (NV2).
• Demonstrated experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and functional requirements, specifications and use cases.
• Strong process analysis skills, with the ability to identify pain points and translate business needs into practical improvement opportunities.
• Clear stakeholder communication skills and confidence working as the link between business users and project, process owner and technical teams.
• A high standard of written communication, with experience creating and maintaining clear technical and user documentation.
