Provide hands-on infrastructure support for end users operating across a secure and complex Federal Government environment.

As an Infrastructure Engineer with Kinetic IT, you’ll take ownership of escalated incidents and service requests that require deeper technical investigation across core infrastructure services to troubleshoot issues across devices, identity, messaging, collaboration, networks and servers, and coordinate with specialist teams where required.. You’ll work across a predominantly Microsoft environment, supported by enterprise monitoring, security, networking and Linux platforms.

This role is 100% onsite in Canberra and requires an active NV2 Australian Government security clearance.

The focus is practical: restore service quickly, identify root causes, improve support documentation and reduce repeat incidents.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own escalated incidents and service requests for field-base end users, providing remote and onsite support through investigation, resolution and clear handover.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft infrastructure and workplace services across Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Exchange, SharePoint, MECM/SCCM and related endpoint environments.
• Support endpoint security, information protection and vulnerability remediation and investigate cross-platform issues.
• Coordinate technical escalations with SME engineering teams, vendors and service owners, ensuring users receive timely updates and issues progress to permanent resolution.
• Improve supportability by maintaining technical knowledge, documenting fixes, automating repeatable tasks and identifying recurring issues for problem and knowledge management.

What we’re looking for:

• Australian Citizenship and an active high level Australian Government security clearance (NV2).
• Strong experience providing senior or escalated infrastructure support to end users across distributed or secure operational environments.
• Broad hands-on capability across enterprise infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft identity, messaging, collaboration and endpoint services, monitoring and diagnostics, endpoint security and vulnerability management, networking, server hardware and Linux environments.
• A customer-focused, methodical approach to incident ownership, technical communication, documentation and knowledge sharing.
