About The Role
Kinetic IT are seeking an IT professionals as a Field Services Engineer, with strong general IT knowledge, background in technical support or troubleshooting, along with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
You will work within a large and complex environment supporting critical Federal Government services. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering technical solutions and resolving issues for end users while balancing service-level requirements with a strong focus on customer experience.
This is a hands-on role working 100% onsite in a secure environment that requires an active NV2 Australian Government security clearance. The role is open to candidates based in Canberra, Sydney, Queensland, or Perth.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide first- and second-level support for desktop-related issues.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components on desktops and laptops.
- Collaborate with end users to resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and system upgrades.
- Monitor and manage desktop security, ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure the smooth integration of desktop systems with other infrastructure components.
- Assist with end user support, requests and triaging for specialist applications incidents.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Australian Citizenship and an active NV2 Australian Government security clearance.
- Previous experience as a Desktop Engineer, Field Support Engineer, or in a EUC Support role.
- Sound knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, SCCM/MECM, Cisco, and DNS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of issues.
- A positive and professional attitude, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A customer-focused approach and the confidence to support VIP and high-priority users.
- A willingness to seek assistance and collaborate with colleagues, along with contributing to the knowledge base and supporting continual improvement.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of ITIL processes, with certifications highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt to changing processes, technologies, and operational requirements.
